Numerical Simulation of Ice Melting Using the Finite Volume Method

چکیده

The Aim of this paper is to investigate numerically the simulation ice melting in one and two dimension using cell-centered finite volume method. mathematical model based on heat conduction equation associated with a fixed grid, latent source approach. fully implicit time scheme selected represent discretization. conductivity chosento be value approximated at interface between adjacent water control volumes. predicted temperature distribution, percentage melt fraction, location its velocity compared those obtained from exact analytical solution. A good agreement when comparing numerical results dimensional temperaturedistribution results.
